OCD, Social Anxiety, and Isolation – Live Web Stream with the IOCDF

OCD Live Stream with IOCDF Town Hall

Like many in our current Covid-19 pandemic time who struggle with OCD, the additional social isolation and frequent co-morbid social anxiety can complicate the daily symptom struggle even more.

Typical physical symptoms of Social Anxiety Disorder can include:

  • Sweating
  • Shaking
  • Difficulty speaking/dry mouth
  • Muscle tension
  • Lightheadedness
  • Dizziness
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Nausea

On April 25th at 2pm ET on Facebook, Dr. Jason Spielman, the Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Florida’s Clinical Director live streamed with the IOCDF National Ambassador, Ethan Smith, and colleagues Dr. Josh Spitalnick and Dr. Aureen Wagner, at the International OCD Foundation’s Live OCD/COVID-19 Online Townhall – OCD, Social Isolation, Social Anxiety and what to consider when we return from our “new normal”.  You can view the 90 minutes of information, fun conversation, and audience Q&A’s below.

AOTCF simple tip – “Move towards the social discomfort opportunities as often as you are willing to do so.  This will eventually normalize the discomfort and you will be engaging in no time”.

The Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Florida successfully treats children, teens, and adults with Anxiety Disorders, including Social Anxiety, using the most up to date evidence-based treatment protocols including: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Therapy as well as Medication Management.
