Jason Spielman, Psy.D.
Jason Spielman, Psy.D., a Florida & New York Licensed Psychologist, is the Clinical Director of the Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Florida. Dr. Spielman is PSYPACT approved for telehealth treatment in over 40 states. For over 20 years, Dr. Spielman has treated individuals and families specializing in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Anxiety Disorders (social anxiety, general anxiety, school anxiety), Panic Disorder, Tic Disorders, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Trichotillomania, Body-Focused Repetitive Disorders (BFRD’s), Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections/ Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANDAS/PANS), the Fear of Flying, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Dr. Spielman is a graduate of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation Pediatric Behavior Therapy Training Institute (IOCDF PBTTI), has primary and advanced certification in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City, is on the Scientific Advisory Board for the PANDAS Network, a PANDAS Physicians Network (PPN) Practitioner, is a board member at large for the Central and South Florida International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (CSF-IOCDF), is the President of the Broward Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association (FPA), is the Chapter Representative of the Florida Psychological Association Board of Directors, and a Federal Key Psychologist. Previously, Dr. Spielman was the co-started and was the director of a Florida based Residential treatment facility and Intensive Treatment Program.
Dr. Spielman incorporates evidence-based psychological treatments and techniques into all therapy. Treatment is provided for children, adolescents, and adults in an individual, group, family, or couples setting. Intensive treatment programs are available. Treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Dr. Spielman received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida; his Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Miami Institute of Psychology in Miami, Florida; and his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida. He completed his pre-doctoral training at the Bradley Center of St. Francis Hospital, in Columbus, Georgia, working in the inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities of the hospital. He then completed his post-doctoral training with the Florida Department of Corrections at Union Correctional Institution and Florida State Prison as a Senior Prison Psychologist. His dissertation focused on how gender bias affects graduate school student therapists.
Additionally, Dr. Spielman has taught a variety of psychology courses in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Nova Southeastern University. He also has presented at numerous national conferences (International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, Florida Psychological Association, Anxiety and Depression Association of America, American Psychological Association, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies), been on multiple news stations (ABC and NBC), and be interviewed for publications with topics such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and Related Conditions, Autistic Spectrum Disorders/Asperger’s Syndrome, Parenting Strategies, and Social Anxiety.
Dr. Spielman established the “Fear of Flying” Program that helps people conquer their fear of flying. He has also facilitated an Adult OCD Support Group in Boca Raton, Florida.
Dr. Spielman lives in Palm Beach county with his wife, two children and dog, Fin. He enjoys traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
